Excellent Dua for the month of Rajab

07, 9 May, 2013

Rajab Dua- Yaa Man Arjoho Le Kulle Khair يَا مَنْ أَرْجُوهُ لِكُلِّ خَيْرٍ
The following du`a is recommended after the daily obligatory prayers in the month of Rajab. The du`a, according to Shaykh `Abbas Qummi in Mafateehul Jinaan has been taught byImam Ja`far as-Sadiq (a). Sayyid Ibn Tawus has narrated that Muhammad ibn Dhakwan—known as ‘al-Sajjad’ due to his remarkable, long prostration during which he used to weep so heavily that he lost his sight—asked Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (a.s), saying, “May Allah accept me as ransom for you! We are now in Rajab; please teach me a supplication due to which Almighty Allah may help me.” Hence, the Imam (a.s) asked him to write down the following dua:

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

O Allah, bless Muhammad and his household.
O He from whom I can hope for all goodness And I am safe from His anger at every evil.

O He who gives a lot in exchange of a little.
O He who gives to one who asks Him.
O He who gives to one who does not ask Him and does not know Him,
Out of His affection and mercy.

Give me, for my request is only to You alone, All the good of this world and all the good of the Hereafter.
Keep away from me, for my request is only to You alone, All the evil of this world and the evil of the Hereafter. For indeed it is not diminishing what is given by You. Increase (for) me from Your bounty, O The Generous.

(Then the 6th Imam held his beard in his left hand and gave a movement to the index finger in his right hand saying 🙂

O The Sublime and The Distinguished,
O The Bountiful and The Magnanimous,
O the Gracious and the Mighty,
Save my grey hairs of the beard from the fire (of Hell).

Fasting and Charity during the month of Rajab

40, 8 May, 2013

Imām Ja’far ibn Muhammad al-Sādiq (A.S.) said:
“Nuh (a.s.) boarded his ark on the first of Rajab and ordered his companions to fast on that day. He said that Hell goes away to a distance of one year from one who fasts on this day. One who fasts for seven days all the seven doors of Hell would be closed for him. One who fasts for eight days all eight doors of Paradise would be opened for him. One who fasts for fifteen days would have his problems solved. One who fasts for more than this Allah, the Mighty and Sublime would grant him a greater reward.”
[Reference: Sawaabul A’amaal & Iqaabul A’amaal, Page 84- 85]

Someone asked, “O” Messenger of Allāh! What should a person do who is not able to observe fast for the whole month due to weakness, menstruation or some other reason?”

Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā (S.A.W.W) said:

“They should give food to poor as charity. I swear by Him in whose control is my life that they would get much more than what I have said if they give charity daily. All the creatures of this earth and the heavens cannot even estimate one-tenth of the reward, which that person would get in Paradise.” Someone asked, “O Messenger of Allāh! What should a person do who is not able to pay charity also?” The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.w.) said, “He should recite the following Tasbeeh of Allāh a hundred times daily for thirty days in the month of Rajab:
‘Sub-h’aanal ilaahil jaleeli sub-h’aana mallaa yambaghit tasbeeh’u illaa lahu sub-h’aanal a-a’zzil akrami sub-h’aana man labisal i’zza wahuwa lahu ahl’.”

RAJAB – THE BEGINNING OF SPIRITUAL SEASON

47, 8 May, 2013

Insha’Allah the month of Rajab is around the corner.
Rajab Mubarak – the month of Mercy, Blessings and Forgiveness from Allah swt.
Rajab marks the beginning of the spiritual season for every believer ending with the end of the fasting
month of Ramadan with the Eid Al Fitr.   These three months (Rajab, Shaban, and Ramadhan)
are unmatched in their significance and importance.

The Holy Prophet (SAW) has said:

“Rajab is a great month of Allah, unmatched by any other month in the respect and significance
(accorded to it).  Verily, Rajab is Allah’s month, Sha’aban is my month and Ramadan Mubarak is
the month of my Ummah.
Whosoever fasts a day in the month of Rajab will be granted the great reward of Ridwan
(an angel in heaven); the wrath of Allah shall be distanced and a door of the Hell shall be closed.”

Imam Musa Al Kazim (as) said:

Rajab is a great month, during which Allah (swt) multiplies the rewards of good deeds and omits the sins.

Some of the recommended Ibadats for the Month of Rajab Mubarak

Fasting

It is highly recommended to fast in this month of Rajab even for one day at least.  A hadith says:
Whosoever fasts a day in Rajab, the fire of hell will be away from him a distance of one year’s
journey, and whosoever fasts 3 days in Rajab, will be entitled for Paradise.

Imam Ali (as) used to fast the whole month of Rajab.

Imām Alī ibn Mūsā al-Rezā (A.S.) said:  “Whoever fast on the first day of the month of Rajab, with desire for the reward of Allāh the Almighty, (then) heaven is incumbent for him and whoever fast in the middle of it (Month of Rajab) he can intercedes people that of Tribe Rabi’a and Mudur. Whoever fast on the last day of it (Month of Rajab) Allāh will make him the kings of the heaven and he will intercedes for his father, mother, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, paternal uncle, paternal aunt, maternal uncle, maternal aunt, his known ones and neighbors, even if anyone of them are deserving of fire of hell.”  [Reference:  A’maali Al Sudooq, Page. 10]
Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā (S.A.W.W) said:  If one experiences the month of Rajab and bathes himself in the first, middle and last of it, he will be released from all of sins and return as pure as the day of his birth.  [Reference: The rites of Rajab, Shaban and Ramadhan]

Seeking Forgiveness (Estighfaar)

The Prophet (saw) used to say: Rajab is a month of seeking forgiveness, so seek forgiveness
from Allah (swt); He is verily the Forgiver, the Merciful.  It is highly recommended to repeat
‘Astaghfirullaaha Wa’atubu Ilayhi’.

Sadaqa and Charity

There is a big reward for sadaqa and charity in the month of Rajab.

A’amal of First Thursday of Rajab – Laylatur Raghaib

Repeating Often – Repeat the following, as often and as much as possible

‘Laa ilaaha illa-Allah’

‘Astaghfirullaaha zul jalale wal Ikraam min jamee’ al zonoobe wal aathaam‘

Sura Al Tawheed ‘Qul-ho-wallaho Ahad‘  which brings blessings on the reciter, his/her children, family and neighbours.

It is recommended to recite ‘Qul-ho-wallaho Ahad‘ 100 times every Friday in the month of Rajab.

Praise be to the Almighty and thanks to Him for granting us yet another opportunity to cleanse
ourselves of our sins and oversights and providing us with an opportunity to attain His pleasure and nearness.
Sura Yasin Dua for concealing something from opponent

09, 25 February, 2013

Sura Yasin Dua for concealing something from opponent

At the time of Hijrat ,the prophet recited the following ayats from Sura Yasin (36),so that the enemies COULD NOT SEE even when he escaped in fron of their eyes from MeccaV 8Inna Ja’alna fe A’ Na ke him  Agh la lan   fa heya ila   al azkaan   fa hum   mukmahun

Verily we have put on their necks iron collars reaching upto their chins so that their heads are raised up.

V 9… Wa ja alna mim bayne Aide him saddawn min khal fe him saddan fa agshaina hum fa hum la yubseroon

And we have put a barrier before them & a barrier behind them, and We have covered them up,so that they cannot see

He has hidden His Answering (your supplications) in Your prayers to Him so then do not consider any part of your prayers to Him as being insignificant as it is possible that within that prayer lies His Answering while you are not aware.”

How many times we have called upon Allah (SWT), waiting patiently for an answer? We sit down to recite the extended supplications such as those in Sahifatul Sajjadiyah and the other beautiful pleas contained in Mafaatihul Jinaan thinking that the longer the prayer, the better chance that Allah (SWT) will accept it. We fail to realize that even one short dua of a few lines has as much a chance of being accepted by Allah as the ‘longer’ duas. The key to acceptance of a dua of any length is to ensure that we have maintained the prerequisites of supplication mentioned in the Quran and Prophetic words of wisdom, and to pray with a pure intention. If the prayer is fulfilled by Allah (SWT), we should realize that that is what was best for us in this life and the next; if it is deferred to the next world, then we need to accept that what we wanted may have been detrimental for our life in this world and more importantly, our status in the next life. We must accept that after all, Allah (SWT) knows best.
